I spent over 26 years in IT — helping humans navigate big, confusing systems. And the whole time, I was quietly building fantasy worlds on the side. Two very different lives, and I kept them pretty separate.

Then generative AI arrived and writers started to panic. And something clicked. I realised I was standing exactly at the intersection those writers needed — someone who understood both how systems work and what it actually feels like to write a book and want readers to find it.

I've been that writer. I know what it's like to wrestle with structure for months, to care deeply about every word, and to wonder why the right readers still aren't finding your work.

That's what led me to build AI Magic for Authors — and eventually to develop the AI Visibility Audit. Because once I understood how AI discovery systems actually read an author's presence online, I couldn't unsee it. And I knew other authors needed to know too.

My philosophy hasn't changed: AI belongs in the systems around your writing — the planning, the research, the organisation, the visibility work. Not in your storytelling. Put it in the right places and everything you've built stays entirely yours.
